Jersey Legacy Week
The Association of Jersey Charities (AJC) and the Jersey Fundraising Forum will be hosting Jersey Legacy Week between 6-12 September, as they join organisations across the UK marking Remember a Charity Week.
Jersey Legacy Week aims to celebrate the impact of gifts in wills and to share the difference they can make to local charities, no matter how big or small. The AJC is encouraging Islanders to choose the cause closest to their heart and to consider remembering the charity with a gift in their will.
The campaign has been developed by the Jersey Fundraising Forum, a group of professional fundraisers, working in partnership with the Association of Jersey Charities. The AJC supported the Forum by providing professional training earlier this year, sponsoring the development of the campaign and working with the Jersey Law Society.
YOUR WILL, YOUR WISHES, YOUR LEGACY
Gifts in wills have enabled charities in Jersey to support transformative and positive change, shaping our community, environment, and wellbeing. Many charities rely on gifts in wills to continue their vital work. The week aims to provide Islanders and charities with an opportunity to talk and learn more about the difference you can make by leaving a gift to a cause you really care about.
Making your will is the best way to protect the people and causes you care about. Your legacy may include leaving a gift in your will to a charity that has made a difference to you, someone you care for or a cause you are passionate about. After you have looked after your family and friends, including a gift to charity in your will, no matter how small, will make a big difference.
